Disneyland Paris is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of its new original daily show, “TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure”. Scheduled to start on 15 July 2023, this daily show, exclusive to Disneyland Paris, will feature iconic characters from the Pixar worlds.
Arnaud Feredj and Matthieu Robin, directors at Disneyland Paris, have brought their bold artistic vision to this project to create a show that is totally immersive, surprising and moving. “TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure” has been imagined as a multi-layered sensory experience, stimulating visitors’ senses with live music, visual technologies, water droplets and scents, blurring the line between dream and reality.
From life-size mobile sets 6.2 metres high and 30 metres wide to 453m² of floor-to-ceiling LED screens, this 650m² stage is the most immersive ever created at Disneyland Paris.
The show is full of poetry and creativity, thanks in part to the innovative lighting effects – 200 spotlights enhance the movement and music, creating a perfect fusion between the surface and the artists on stage – and the aerial view of the dancers, which gives the illusion of a giant kaleidoscope.
This new daily show is a testament to the talent of the artistic and technical teams of Disneyland Paris Cast Members: costume designers, puppeteers, dancers, musicians, props designers, lighting technicians, special effects technicians, engineers and many more. They have also worked alongside Pixar Animation Studios and renowned outside talent such as Romain Rachline-Borgeaud, choreographer, tap dancer, founder of the RB Dance Company and finalist in La France a un Incroyable Talent, Céline & Cain Kitsaïs, multidisciplinary choreographers and creators of the duo “Le Labo”, and Anne Gravoin, violinist by training and executive producer in charge of selecting the ensemble’s musicians. These fruitful collaborations between internal and external creative talents have resulted in a powerful show with a typically French signature. A number of partners and suppliers, selected for their expertise and excellence in their fields, have also helped to bring the show to life.
Music plays a major role in the show. During each performance, musicians will pay tribute to the timeless beauty of Pixar’s most memorable soundtracks, while performing an original score. The blend of a live musical ensemble and a soundtrack recorded with 54 musicians in the Nashville studios will invite the audience to take part in a real emotional journey.
This large-scale project – which involved more than 30 different trades – demonstrates once again the excellence and commitment of Disneyland Paris to offering unforgettable entertainment to the public, consolidating its position as Europe’s entertainment leader.
“We are thrilled to unveil Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure, an innovative and immersive experience that brings to life the magic of Pixar’s most iconic films. This new show perfectly illustrates our commitment to providing world-class entertainment that touches the hearts of our guests in such a unique and powerful way. It also showcases the exceptional talent of our cast and creative teams who have worked tirelessly to bring this experience to our guests,” said Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris.
“Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure” strengthens the presence of Pixar Animation Studios at Disneyland Paris, adding to the eight Pixar attractions (Cars ROAD TRIP, Ratatouille: The Adventure, Crush’s Coaster… ), shops (Chez Marianne – Souvenirs of Paris, Toy Story Playland Boutique), restaurants (Bistrot Chez Rémy, the future Casa de Coco – Restaurante de Familia), meetings with the characters, and the two hotels incorporating Pixar elements (Disney Hotel Cheyenne, a hotel inspired by the Far West and the Toy Story characters, and Disney Hotel Santa Fe, a motel-style hotel with several buildings grouped into 4 accommodation zones, inspired by Route 66 and the world of Cars).
Music is a universal language and, as an art form, it has the power to bring people of all generations together. That’s what makes this show so special: a storyline built around music, and designed to keep the audience’s attention throughout the production.
On stage, music is at the heart of the story, as Charlie’s friends do everything in their power to help him find his lost sheet music and fulfil his dream of playing in his school concert.
Music is also present in the theatre, with an eight-piece orchestra. The piano, violin, trumpet, cello, guitar, drums and saxophone are an integral part of the story, accompanying the audience throughout each scene. Each of these instruments serves the plot in a very specific way and blends harmoniously with the soundtrack, recorded with 54 artists in the Nashville studios.
This summer, Pixar fans will have plenty to discover at Disneyland Paris. As well as the new show, visitors will discover an exclusive range of colourful Pixar-themed clothing and products:
