Did you miss the Cinema and Disney plus announcements from D23, the big Disney fan event, which is taking place this weekend? Don’t panic, we’ve got it all! (article under construction)
We start with the surprise announced a few months ago, Moana 2, which was originally intended to be a Disney Plus series.
We’ll be back in another famous universe with the much-anticipated Lion King spin-off, Mufasa, which arrives in cinemas in December:
Snow-Whitewill be released in March next year in the US. D23 has unveiled a new trailer. :
Summer will see another live-action film invade our cinema screens. The 6.2.6 experience will also arrive in 2025
In October, Tron Ares, the third instalment in the iconic saga, will transport us to another universe:
Still in 2025, but with no specific date, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis will star in Freakey Friday 2. Freakey Friday has already been adapted on Disney Plus and this film is the remake of an earlier film: Freaky Friday. We won’t forget an other movie in 1995. In short, it’s an inexhaustible source of revenue, just like live-action films.
On the animation front, there are two dates: first in summer, with Elio, the new Pixar film, and then on to Zootopia town with Zootopia 2, for the festive season. Ah, the Disney of Christmas…
Another big production for 2025, from 20th Fox, is Avatar, with Avatar Fire and Ash. A long-awaited return to Pandora!

Among the other announcements, the Incredibles will be making their third return to the big screen. Hopper will be the new Pixar of 2026.
The long-awaited Agatha All Along series, which has changed title a number of times, will be broadcast in September on Disney Plus in the USA. At last!

Other major announcements include the adaptation of THE GREATEST SHOWMAN for the Broadway stage.
Also on Broadway, Frozen, the musical, produced by Disney Theatrical Group, will be available on Disney Plus! Fans of Elsa and Anna are in for a treat! We’ll have to wait until 2025. Let’s hope other productions follow!

A few revelations about Disney Lorcana, straight from the D23 expo. New Disney classics arrive in Disney Lorcana: Tic & Tac: Rangers of Risk (Set 6) and Pocahontas (2026. The European final of the Disney Lorcana Challenge will take place at Disneyland Paris at the end of the year, and the world final at Walt Disney World in Florida in 2025. Pixar masterpieces will make their debut in Disney Lorcana in 2026.
