Located right at the heart of the destination – between the Disney theme parks and hotels – Disney Village is embarking on its biggest transformation yet, aiming to enhance the overall experience of the dining, shopping and entertainment complex.
The next stage of this ambitious project will begin in early 2024 and will last around two years, with the gradual modification of all the shops and facades, from the Disney Store to the Disney Fashion Jr. boutique. These major works will follow the opening of the new French brasserie Rosalie, scheduled for the end of the year.
Announced for 2022, the work to transform the experience and atmosphere of Disney Village is about to make significant progress. While Rosalie, a new restaurant inspired by traditional Parisian brasseries, is due to open its doors at the end of the year near Lake Disney, the entire adjoining block of buildings, almost 200 metres long, will be completely transformed and will include new shopping experiences.
Scheduled to take around two years to complete, the work will be carried out in two phases to minimise the impact on the experience of Disney Village visitors. The first phase, from early 2024 to autumn of the same year, will see the transformation of the Disney Fashion, Disney Fashion Jr and The Disney Gallery shops. These shops, now more visible from the street thanks to large transparent windows, will be completely remodelled from the inside.
Once completed, the shops will feature new shopping concepts such as Fashion & Lifestyle, Home Decor, Disney Art & Collectibles, and Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars franchises. The shops will include new fixtures and fittings, furniture and decoration.
The work will also create brand new façades to give Disney Village its new visual identity, more contemporary and warm, with textures in natural tones combining wood, brick and metal, creating a homogenous and dynamic atmosphere. Large awnings will also protect visitors from the elements.
Finally, in the main outdoor walkway, extensive work will be carried out on the floors, surrounding vegetation and lighting to extend the celebration of stories offered in the destination’s Parks and hotels. Original art installations and illustrations depicting Disney characters in contemporary styles will also be displayed in the main street and on the facade, to continually surprise and delight visitors as they stroll along.
“We are very pleased to be launching work on the north block of Disney Village, which will begin a very tangible transformation over the coming months. The aim of these works is to create a more harmonious promenade, punctuated by touches of Disney magic, with brand new façades and a completely reinvented ambience and interiors. They will also improve life behind the scenes and the comfort of our Cast Members and Disney Village Partner employees. This is an ambitious and exciting time for us, and I can’t wait to see the new Disney Village come to life,” said Bruno Chastain, Director of Disney Village.
And this is just the beginning. There are still many plans to be announced for the transformation of Disney Village. Stay tuned for the latest developments in this ambitious project!
