May 15 opening of World Premiere, the gateway to Disney Adventure World’s future immersive worlds
As Disneyland Paris’ second park gradually enters a new era marked by new experiences, unprecedented expansion and creative repositioning, its original entrance sequence has also been transformed, becoming “World Premiere” in the process, and set to open on May 15, 2025.
As they pass through the doors of the imposing building, visitors will be transported to the heart of a glamorous Hollywood evening, celebrating a blockbuster movie premiere under a starry sky – at any time of day. From here, they can explore fully immersive worlds in the park to live out their own adventures, plunging right into the heart of their favorite Disney, Marvel and Pixar stories.
The interior of the former Disney Studio 1 soundstage has undergone a complete makeover, with meticulously crafted new decors, redesigned spaces and a brand new story that plunges visitors into the heart of a real Hollywood street, recognizable by its palm trees, stars on the ground, facades with architecture as rich as it is varied, and its famous cinemas.
Numerous nods and references to Los Angeles, the Disney universe and the park’s other experiences will be hidden in the sets, including the impressive mural that serves as the backdrop to the entire building…
At the end of the central aisle, the impressive façade of the Disney Theater and its majestic illuminated sign, weighing almost 3 tons, will invite visitors to continue their exploration of Disney Adventure World to fully experience the stories behind their favorite films. Within World Premiere, several experiences will await visitors:
The Hollywood Gardens Restaurant will offer tasty fast food under a starry sky, in an elegant “outdoor” setting. A variety of snacks and hot and cold drinks will also be available to take away from the Searchlight kiosk.
Mickey’s of Hollywood Boutique, inspired by the typical American department stores of the 1920s, will be the place to go for a shopping spree. Visitors will find a wide selection of products inspired by Disney stories brought to life in the park’s immersive worlds.
Upon exiting the building, visitors will naturally find themselves in the heart of World Premiere Plaza, a vibrant area akin to Broadway or the West End, home to several performance venues celebrating Disney and Pixar stories in elegant surroundings. The Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams are currently working to transform this former heart of the park into a more coherent, dynamic and welcoming universe.
The “placemaking” work includes a complete overhaul of all the floors, the creation of colorful murals, and the integration of new landscaped areas and Art Deco-style street furniture, giving World Premiere Plaza a more coherent and aesthetically pleasing appearance. Work is currently being carried out in phases, and will be completed before the opening of the park’s major extension in 2026.
“As our second park continues its transformation, we are proud to unveil the next key milestone with the opening of World Premiere in just a few weeks’ time. As part of the overall €2 billion investment announced in 2018, we continue to reinvent the park experience with a new creative vision. By the end of its expansion project, which includes the opening of Adventure Way, Adventure Bay and World en Frozen in 2026, and later an immersive world inspired by The Lion King, we will have reimagined more than 90% of the park’s offering since it opened in 2002, and almost doubled its size, making it absolutely unmissable!” said Natacha Rafalski, President of Disneyland Paris.
Disney Adventure World, Disney Hotels, Disney Village and more: Disneyland Paris continues its incredible global transformation!
Disneyland Paris has marked its 33rd anniversary by sharing new images and information about its unprecedented transformation. The destination’s second-largest park, which will be renamed Disney Adventure World when the new World of Frozen land opens in 2026, is currently undergoing a major expansion and creative repositioning, the next stage of which, World Premiere, the gateway to the park’s existing and future immersive worlds, will open on May 15. The park will also see the upcoming construction of a new family attraction inspired by Pixar Animation Studios’ film Là-Haut, ahead of the future immersive world inspired by Disney Animation Studios’ film The Lion King. These announcements come as part of a major transformation plan for the destination, supported by a €2 billion investment dedicated in particular to the extension of Walt Disney Studios Park, announced in 2018. Renewing more than 90% of its original offering and almost doubling in size at the end of its extension project, it will become an absolute must-see!
A series of projects will enhance the appeal of Europe’s leading tourist destination in the years to come: after the Disneyland Hotel, the iconic Disney Sequoia Lodge will be the next Disney Hotel to undergo a complete renovation inspired by Walt Disney and his animators’ admiration for nature, while the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch sees the start of the replacement of all its bungalows, which will tell a new story to enhance the visitor experience. Disney Village, meanwhile, has just inaugurated new boutiques, and new restaurants will soon see the light of day in a reimagined environment.
With the cries of wonder still ringing out from the new Disney Tales of Magic night show, launched last January, and only a few days to go before the launch of a new music festival at Disneyland Park, Disney Music Festival, there have never been so many projects underway at Disneyland Paris!
A titanic construction site with a thousand details coming to life day by day
Project managers, engineers, landscape architects and other creatives: throughout the year, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams mingle with more than 800 workers on the Disney Adventure World construction site, to bring to life the new worlds that will enchant visitors from 2026 onwards.
At World of Frozen, with construction progressing apace, the 36-metre-high North Mountain is now almost complete, creating a spectacular new skyline for the park. 400 tonnes of metal skilfully compose its structure, which is covered in hand-sculpted and hand-painted concrete. From the patina to the seaweed textures, the choice of paving stones, lighting fixtures and the construction of life-size boats, the attention to detail dear to Disney Imagineers continues in the creation of the facades of the Kingdom of Arendelle, as well as its fjörd and surrounding forest, immersing visitors in the heart of the Snow Queen’s universe. Inside the main attraction, Frozen Ever After, work continues on the installation of sets and the programming of over 30 animated figures, including the latest-generation Audio-Animatronics® figures that visitors will be able to glimpse during their adventure.
Adventure Way’s themed gardens are growing day by day, thanks in particular to a remarkable landscaping project: over 1,000 trees, meticulously selected by Disney Imagineers from European nurseries, have been planted as part of the park extension, in addition to the 100,000 shrubs and groves that will make up this dreamlike setting. The Toy Story garden, meanwhile, recently welcomed two imposing statues of Woody and Jessie, while the Rapunzel Tangled Spin attraction has already received its boats, inspired by those seen in the lantern scene from the Disney Studios animated film Rapunzel.
Did you know? Mandy Moore, the original English voice of Rapunzel, has specially recorded various sound announcements for the Rapunzel Tangled Spin attraction, adding an extra touch of authenticity to the visitor experience. the original voice actors from the animated film have once again lent their voices to all the attraction's sound announcements!
Beyond the storytelling that is at the heart of the Disney Parks experience, the surrounding architecture, cutting-edge technologies, horticulture, signage, music and shows will all contribute to creating a truer-to-nature imaginary world for visitors discovering Disney Adventure World in 2026.
Disney Adventure World unveiled: an exclusive preview of the expansion
From April 19, visitors to Animation Celebration will discover a glimpse of Disney Adventure World’s transformation in the attraction’s post-show. An impressive full-color model will allow them to project themselves into this expanded and reimagined park, which will be almost double the size it was when it opened in 2002. From World of Frozen to Adventure Way and the future immersive world dedicated to The Lion King, this space will be an opportunity for everyone to gauge the scale of this expansion project.
Take to the skies with Là-Haut, for the first time as an attraction
Adventure is extra”. The famous mantra of the Disney-Pixar animated film Là-Haut will soon be the mantra of visitors to Disney Adventure World, where they’ll be able to twirl through the air aboard a flying carousel, offering a panoramic view high above the magnificent surroundings of Adventure Way. This experience, combining the charm of family attractions with the colorful world of Là-Haut, will mark the very first time that an attraction inspired by this iconic film and its world has come to life in a Disney Park. It will be located opposite Rapunzel Tangled Spin, an attraction already under construction at Adventure Way.
This experience, combining the charm of family attractions with the colorful world of UP, will mark the very first time that an attraction inspired by this iconic film and its universe comes to life in a Disney Park. It will be located opposite Rapunzel Tangled Spin, an attraction already under construction at Adventure Way. This will further enhance the kineticism and family-friendliness of the ride, which blends lush greenery with European-inspired art nouveau architecture, offering a variety of sensations for young and old alike. Comprising themed gardens celebrating Disney and Pixar stories such as Rapunzel and Toy Story, Adventure Way is the natural link between the current park and the new immersive worlds; a timeless green setting inviting visitors to relax and daydream, before plunging into immersive adventures at the heart of Disney stories. In addition to a rich offering of entertainment.
In addition to a rich entertainment offering, Adventure Way will also include the magnificent table service restaurant The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, offering visitors the chance to meet the Disney Princesses, and will be the ideal place to watch the breathtaking new evening show performed over the new Adventure Bay central lake. The show will combine water screens, fountains, special effects and never-before-seen drone choreography. Disneyland Paris show teams have already begun testing these innovations. Work on the new family attraction celebrating UP and its themed garden will begin by the end of 2025, completing Adventure Way in the future.
Major renovation of Disney Sequoia Lodge to begin in 2026
Following the reopening of Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in 2021 and the royal transformation of Disneyland Hotel in 2024, Disneyland Paris unveils the next ambitious transformation of another of its Disney Hotels: the 1010-room Disney Sequoia Lodge. Nestled on the shores of Lake Disney, in a charming green setting of pines and sequoias, this iconic Disneyland Paris hotel, inspired by the refuges of the American National Parks, will offer visitors a unique getaway celebrating Nature, in the company of the forest animals seen in Disney animated films. Starting in 2026, major renovations will be undertaken to enhance and elevate the experience of visitors staying at Disney Sequoia Lodge, while retaining the warm, authentic woodland ambience that has been so popular since 1992. The structure of the interior spaces will be completely remodeled from floor to ceiling, with a reworked design offering a brighter setting with a modern touch. The design will pay homage to the beauty of nature, drawing inspiration from the forest in the pure tradition initiated by Walt Disney and his animators. Every space, from rooms and lobbies to dining and shopping areas, will be renovated and redesigned as an ode to wilderness, conducive to rest and contemplation.
The other great novelty of this transformation is the development of the thematic universe of nature and landscapes: while currently the rooms contain references to the Disney animated classic Bambi, the transformation of Disney Sequoia Lodge will enrich its theme by celebrating the many Disney Characters living in the forest, from both old and recent Disney animated Classics. They will be subtly integrated into the hotel’s various experiences through a carefully thought-out creative approach. Respect for nature and sustainability will also be integrated into the building materials themselves, to minimize the environmental impact of the Disney Sequoia Lodge renovation work. The hotel will remain open during the works, which will begin in 2026, and will be carried out in phases so as not to impact visitors’ stay.
Complete redesign of the bungalows at Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch, in the heart of nature
The transformation of Disneyland Paris’ hotel offerings continues with the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch, where its bungalows are being progressively replaced with a new theme to provide the best possible experience for visitors, both in terms of comfort and design, in a true haven of peace set in the heart of nature, just minutes away from the Disney Parks. The new interior designs will be inspired by the adventures of beloved Disney Characters, such as Donald, Daisy, and the Junior Beavers. These new bungalows will gradually be available for booking starting June 12, for stays beginning in the fall of 2025.
The Lion King will soon roar at Disney Adventure World
The future of Disney Adventure World is already taking shape on the horizon: at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August 2024, Disneyland Paris announced the construction of the first fully immersive world dedicated to one of Disney’s most popular animated films globally, and particularly in Europe: The Lion King. This new universe, which will open after World of Frozen and whose construction will begin in the fall of 2025, will feature a major attraction combining water-based thrills and cutting-edge Audio-Animatronics® technology, plunging visitors into the heart of the Lion King’s Kingdom to follow Simba’s adventures, accompanied by the iconic songs from the 1994 animated masterpiece.
Accessing the caves beneath the majestic 37-meter-high Lion’s Rock, visitors will embark on a journey that is poetic, touching, and sensational, through the iconic scenes and landscapes from the animated film. The ride will feature several surprising descents, with the most thrilling reaching a height of 16 meters. Featuring a large number of Audio-Animatronic Characters, a richly detailed environment brought to life with cutting-edge special effects, and a memorable soundtrack, this will be one of the largest attractions at Disneyland Paris. “We are excited to begin work on this new immersive world centered around The Lion King and its major attraction, marking a new milestone for Disney Adventure World. The main attraction will be the epitome of Disney experience and storytelling: lovable Characters, unforgettable music, incredibly immersive sets and effects, and perfectly timed thrills throughout the adventure. All the Imagineers working on this project have one goal in mind: to pay tribute to the timeless masterpiece that is The Lion King, creating unforgettable memories for all our visitors,” explained Michel Den Dulk, Vice President and Portfolio Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering.
Even more magic at Disneyland Park in 2025, thanks to Walt Disney Imagineering Paris
While transformation work is in full swing at Walt Disney Studios Park® and its unprecedented expansion, the Imagineers are also working on numerous large-scale projects across the entire destination, including Disneyland Park®, to make the visitor experience even more magical and enjoyable. Here’s a quick overview.
Behind Walt Disney Imagineering lies the creative force that imagines, designs, and builds all Disney Parks, Hotels, attractions, and cruise ships worldwide. Among the approximately 400 Imagineers based in Paris, about 70 form the Design & Show Quality team, responsible for ensuring quality and enhancing Disneyland® Paris experiences over time.
Artists, engineers, architects, set designers, and audio, visual, and special effects specialists, these talented individuals with diverse expertise work tirelessly every day to ensure the visitor experience remains ever more magical within the French Disney Parks.
For the 33rd anniversary of Disneyland® Paris, a preview of the upcoming projects from this team of Imagineers has been unveiled:
Even more magic for Rivers of the Far West at Frontierland®
Following the renovation of the iconic Big Thunder Mountain attraction in Frontierland®, the Rivers of the Far West attraction will also be renovated: in addition to deep maintenance of the landscapes and the animal figures along the lake’s shoreline, new scenes inspired by original sketches from Disney Imagineer and Legend Marc Davis will be added along the route, such as a buffalo in a meadow or deer drinking from a waterfall. Visitors will be able to catch a glimpse of them during the peaceful cruise on the iconic Molly Brown boat, which is also being renovated from bow to stern. For attention to detail and to make this universe rich and authentic, the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery teams have sourced genuine 19th-century American West accessories!
A new treasure hunt in the caves of Adventure Isle
The Imagineers are also designing playful experiences to enrich the different lands of Disneyland Paris: they are currently working on a permanent treasure hunt experience in the mysterious caves of Adventure Isle, with a storyline closely tied to that of Pirates of the Caribbean. Indeed, on parchments displayed at the entrance to the caves, iconic characters from the attraction will challenge visitors to find their lost belongings! Visitors will need to explore the various caverns to recover, among other items, a set of keys lost by a dog… and he really needs them to watch over the pirates locked up in the dark prisons of the fort! This playful installation, featuring hand-painted posters and props molded after those from the attraction, will be completed in the fall of 2025: in addition to enriching the storyline of Adventure Isle, it will further connect the various experiences offered in Adventureland®.
Update on covered terraces and queue lines
The vast project to better protect visitors from both the weather and the heat continues to evolve: the Imagineers are working closely with the Disneyland Paris teams to integrate these new covered terraces and queue lines into the park landscape in a harmonious and immersive way.
At Disneyland Park®, after the inauguration of a new covered kiosk nearby, the Casey’s Corner restaurant will have an elegant covered terrace by June 2025, with construction now in its final phase. In a style that harmoniously integrates with the rest of Main Street, U.S.A.® and complements the restaurant, this terrace will feature nods to the world of baseball, and its roof will be made of resin, a material both durable and weather-resistant. In 2026, the photo spot in front of the Town Square Boarding House will be given a new, sheltered, and elegant structure to enhance the comfort of visitors wishing to meet Disney Characters.
In Walt Disney Studios Park®, construction of the covered outdoor queue for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ will begin by the end of April 2025: this themed space will enhance the story of the Hollywood Tower Hotel in a new way, while maintaining its Pueblo Deco architecture. Every material element will be carefully selected to integrate seamlessly into this universe. More details about the scenography and decor will be revealed later.
Finally, on the visitor parking side, the complete overhaul of the pavement has provided an opportunity to integrate magical details: a Mickey head, symbolically nodding to Walt Disney’s famous quote, “it all started with a mouse”; as well as 23 terrazzo stars, which reference 1923, the founding year of The Walt Disney Company, and, like fairy dust, guide visitors towards the Disney Parks.
These various projects are just a glimpse of the many works underway and in the planning stages throughout the entire destination, aiming to surprise visitors on their future visits to Disneyland® Paris. More information will be shared in the future!
World Premiere Plaza will reveal more starting April 2025
While the teams at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Disneyland® Paris are working tirelessly on the expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park®, which will become Disney Adventure World in 2026, the rest of the park is also undergoing this unprecedented transformation. Starting in spring 2025, visitors will be able to discover a first glimpse of World Premiere Plaza, which already embodies this new creative direction.
In April 2025, World Premiere Plaza will become more visible to visitors: while we will have to wait a little longer for World Premiere to open its doors, the large square, which previously encompassed Production Courtyard and Toon Studio, will gradually reveal itself, with every detail carefully designed to tell a new story and enhance the visitor experience. As the second park of Disneyland® Paris enters a new era, marked by a major expansion and a creative repositioning, World Premiere Plaza celebrates Disney stories through various stage productions that visitors can admire before diving into the immersive worlds of Marvel Avengers Campus, Worlds of Pixar, and soon World of Frozen for spectacular adventures!
The many performance halls located in this area of the park are now at the heart of the World Premiere Plaza story, which has been reimagined as a vibrant theater district, much like Broadway or the West End. To showcase the variety of shows, giant posters inspired by Broadway iconography have been proudly displayed on the World Premiere façade to inform visitors of this ambitious lineup, which currently includes “Mickey and the Magician,” “TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure,” and “Frozen: A Musical Invitation.”
This change in atmosphere is reflected in the addition of numerous trees and green spaces, perfect for strolling between shows, new Art Deco-style streetlamps and lighting fixtures, and a new pavement unifying the entire area. The music also plays a key role, continuing the new themes featured at World Premiere, with orchestral renditions of famous songs from Disney franchise films, such as “Colors of the Wind” (Pocahontas), “Captain America’s March” (Captain America: The First Avenger), and “The Raiders March” (Raiders of the Lost Ark).
Some iconic decorative elements from Production Courtyard and Toon Studio have also been reintroduced to align with the new story of the area: for example, near Animation Celebration, the Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey statue is displayed with a bronze finish at the center of a flowerbed, surrounded by smaller sculptures of the park’s iconic animated characters, such as Donald, Dumbo, Mulan, and Tarzan, which were previously located around Animation Celebration.
As for the iconic ‘Partners’ statue, featuring Walt Disney and Mickey, it will be relocated facing away from World Premiere, at the center of a flowered canopy designed as a natural extension of the building, both in its color palette and architectural details. This installation will be completed with an original hand-painted, curved mural in a style that celebrates the various experiences showcased in Disney Adventure World – Worlds of Pixar, Avengers Campus, and soon, World of Frozen and the new themed area inspired by The Lion King. At the center of this mural, Walt Disney and Mickey, hand in hand, pay tribute to the beginning of the entire story: Walt’s creation of Mickey marked the start of more than a century of stories and experiences, and this dream of Walt Disney laid the foundation for generations of storytellers, artists, and dreamers, who created new characters and imagined new adventures. His legacy lives on, now allowing visitors to immerse themselves in their favorite stories – which is why the ‘Partners’ statue will now face Adventure Way, as if looking toward the future and inviting visitors to explore the immersive worlds that await them. This canopy will be accessible to visitors upon the opening of World Premiere.
As part of this transformation, a new mural will be painted under the Animagique Theater arcade, in preparation for the return of the show “Mickey and the Magician” on April 21, 2025. This colorful mural will feature well-known Disney Characters that have appeared in previous and current shows, in an Art Deco style that will enhance the iconic identity of the venue and its integration within World Premiere Plaza, while also incorporating the new Official Partner Visa.
However, the transformation of World Premiere Plaza will not stop there and will continue in the coming months leading up to the opening of World of Frozen in 2026. The current food kiosks will gradually be replaced to feature a new Art Deco-inspired design; new shopping experiences will be introduced; and additional small details will be unveiled over time to enhance the visitor experience at World Premiere Plaza.
A wealth of new shopping experiences in a transformed Disney Village
Located at the heart of the destination, bridging the Disney Parks and Disney Hotels, Disney Village continues its major transformation, aiming to offer new shopping and dining experiences in a more contemporary setting.
Two new stores, Disney Glamour and Disney Style, recently opened their doors to visitors, offering a selection of ready-to-wear clothing, fashion accessories, and collaborations. These new concepts will be joined on April 19 by the reopening of a completely redesigned LEGO® Store, and Deco by Disney, a store specializing in home products, interior décor, and Disney collectibles.
These new stores aim to provide a more modern and welcoming experience for visitors, with touches of Disney magic. Featuring impressive, colorful façades with graphic and contemporary tones inspired by Disney worlds, some of the stores will even offer a selection of exclusive products available only at Disney Village. This will enhance the appeal of this must-visit place for Disney shopping enthusiasts, which will continue to reinvent itself in 2025 and beyond. The Disney Store will close next fall to be reimagined and transformed into Disney Wonders, which will feature exclusive products inspired by Disney’s greatest franchises under a single brand.
On the dining side, Brasserie Rosalie, which opened in late 2023 and offers traditional French cuisine, will be equipped with an outdoor terrace by Lake Disney, Petite Rosalie, in the spring. This outdoor terrace will have its own dedicated menu offering a selection of light snacks and meals, perfect for the warmer days. The Sports Bar & Lounge will reopen in the fall with a completely new design, increased capacity, and a new menu, while in 2026, a state-of-the-art McDonald’s with unique architecture and Casa Giulia, a two-story Italian restaurant offering a delicious and savory menu, operated by Bertrand Hospitality, will open.
The ongoing transformation of Disney Village will not be limited to these projects, and further information will be shared later.
