- Aladdin is the 40th animated feature film and the 31st animated classic from Disney Studios.

- The story is loosely based on the traditional 18th century Arab-Persian tale Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, but also on the 1940 film The Thief of Baghdad.
- The character is based on Princess Badroulboudour from Aladdin and the Wonder Lamp. American actress Jennifer Connelly also lent her features to the appearance of Jasmine, as well as Beth Henn who is the sister of Mark Henn (the animator responsible for the character).
