Villages Nature Paris: which COVID-prevention measures for the reopening?

This Monday 22nd June 2020 will mark the reopening of the last Pierre & Vacances – Center Parks holiday village still closed to date in France, Villages Nature Paris. We had the honour of being invited to discover the health measures that will be applied from the reopening in the different areas of the centre in order to prevent the spread of the virus. This could even give us a first glimpse of the measures envisaged for the reopening of Disneyland Paris.

General measures

From the car park to the cottages, including the various restaurants, shops and activities, Villages Nature Paris has put in place all the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of its staff and visitors while offering them the most diversified experience possible. There will be no change in the schedules and rates. However, the number of spaces available in the visitors’ car park will be reduced.

First of all, Villages Nature Paris will be open to visitors coming as part of a holiday at the resort as well as day passes. However, the number of day tickets available will change according to the number of resort guests on site: if the number of resort guests decreases, the number of day tickets may be increased and vice versa. In addition, online booking will be required for resort guests and day visits which will also need to be paid in advance, except in the case of reduced rates and other offers requiring payment on site.

All accommodation in the complex will be open for holidaying. However, visitors occupying a cottage will have to remove all sheets and linen from the accommodation themselves and place them in a special bag available in the accommodation to ensure the safety of the staff, as well as their own. In addition, a protocol of complete disinfection of the accommodation will be carried out after each departure and before each new arrival.

Hydroalcoholic gel dispensers will be placed at the entrance of all areas accommodating the public. Access to the Aqualagon aquatic area will be limited to a maximum of 900 people. This limit may be increased as soon as new regulations come into force. For greater simplicity, the Villages Nature Paris application has been updated during lockdown. Visitors will now be able to consult the activities that may or may not be available on the day of their visit.

Aqualagon (aquatic area)

As Aqualagon benefits from wide open spaces, the flow of visitors is rather naturally distributed. Only the basins do not have a physical separation. As previously mentioned, the maximum capacity will be limited to 900 people, with the possibility of adjustment on a day-to-day basis. The entrance and exit of the building will now be through separate doors to prevent people from crossing each other.

For the installations, different measures to be followed are indicated by marking strips, for a uniform-looking horizontal (floors) and vertical (walls) signage throughout the space. This marking will indicate which installations are accessible or closed, the directions of traffic, as well as the distances to be respected, both in the whole aquatic area and in the stairs leading to the slides. All hair dryers will be out of use. On the other hand, only one locker out of two will be out of use (the same principle will be applied for showers and washbasins). All the pools will be accessible, excluding the 3 jacuzzis.

An entry lock will be set up at the arrival of the slides. Visitors wishing to give their buoys back will enter on one side of this entry lock and then exit. The next visitor will then be able to enter, take a new buoy, and exit.

Instead of the usual 2 lines on the stairs, access is limited to a single line serving the different slide entry platforms.

Lake promenade

All the bars and restaurants in the centre will be open. However, capacity will be limited, as every second table will be out of service.

The main leisure areas will be open to visitors, but also under altered conditions. The Escape Game will offer only every second session to allow for disinfection of the premises after participants have left. The Bowling will see its capacity reduced due to the closure of one out of two lanes. As for the Kids Club Villages Nature Paris, it will be able to accommodate a maximum of 10 children.

Action Factory and the Arcade Room will remain accessible.

Ferme BelleVie

Activities at Ferme BelleVie will be available. Gardening classes will continue, but will be held at a reduced capacity. The chocolate and bread workshops will continue. However, masks must be worn and the capacity is limited to 10 people per workshop instead of 16. The tables in the area have been removed to install a « disinfection » area with sinks so that visitors can wash their hands between the two workshops. Participants in the Bread Workshop will be able to knead, bake and take away their own bread. Entrance and exit will be through separate doors.

All activities with the animals will be accessible, but hand washing will be mandatory, as will the wearing of gloves to touch the weasels. Pony rides will be done with reduced capacity. Access to the farm’s playground is possible, which will be supervised by a security guard who will ensure that visitors are not too close to each other.

In addition, the shows, including the farm show, are suspended for the time being.

In conclusion, everything is in place to welcome future visitors and guarantee everyone’s safety. Once again, we would like to thank our partner Villages Nature Paris for inviting us to this early visit.

Disney and me, it's a long love story. I fell into it as a child and never got out. From movies to theme parks, through the history of the Walt Disney Company, to comic books, everything fascinates me.
